A Letter from Fort Portal: From Opposition to Breakthrough

We just finished our second conference at Fort Portal, Uganda. Our time ended up being a huge blessing and quite amazing even though there were multiple hurdles to adjust to and manage. From the moment we left Nairobi and headed to the airport, it was a struggle. Our plane was initially delayed for several hours. When we finally got ready to depart there were issues with our Visas so we had to wait further while new visas were issued.

These and other changes caused the first morning of teaching to be postponed and our schedule to be rearranged.

However, God is good… all the time!

Once we arrived and the conference started, it was very noticeable and a little shocking how many of the pastors were discouraged and hurting. During the time of ministry I invited them to raise their hands if they were hurting and needed healing and everybody raised their hand! I said, “I need to be really clear; I'm just looking for people that are really hurting - that the Holy Spirit is speaking to you right now and that you need healing”. Again, everybody raised their hand, so I invited all 300 of them forward and we prayed over everyone.

The people were increasingly responsive as we ministered to them and by the end of our time, there was a lot of healing prayer and hours of teaching. We made many new friends. They told me they had never had anyone come and encourage them like this and requested I return and do extensive teaching and training for a much longer time!

While it was very intense at times, we were blessed and encouraged to see these leaders grow and ask for more deep teachings from us. They are hungry for Jesus to use them in their towns and villages. There was a huge sense of oppression when we arrived but by the time we departed, we experienced a time of God’s blessing and breakthrough.

Thank you for interceding in prayer for us. You are the reason Jesus showed up with such authority and encouragement.

Continue to pray as we travel and minister in Tanzania as hurdles and spiritual opposition continue to be present.

Blessings,
Pastor Dan
