Kingdom Breakthroughs in Kenya & Tanzania
Greetings!
I’ve been home for a few days and it has been a journey recovering from jet lag. It was a long ride home, nearly 40 hours. We had a powerful trip filled with deep spiritual battles and some great breakthroughs. Spending two weeks in Africa with people that are hungry for Jesus is a wonderful way to lift your head and your heart. Our first week was in Eldoret, Kenya, which many of you will recognize from our ministry with the ELI orphanage. Water Of Life has been sending teams to ELI for the past 20 years. My daughter, Katie, and her husband Tony, and their family, lived there for three years so we have established many relationships there. I spent my first day in appointments with people who wanted to meet and talk about ministry, some of which were with Bishop Rono who runs several churches in the area and became a friend during my times in Eldoret, and Russ and Maria who are missionaries from Water Of Life and are now living in Eldoret, doing ministry in the villages and surrounding areas. It was great to reconnect with people and hear what God was doing in the region.
Our conference in Eldoret included 400 pastors and leaders. I taught on the Kingdom of God. I would have to say it was a real battle. There are many spiritual strongholds in the area so teaching on the Kingdom of God was not the easiest subject to tackle. I found some of the material to be difficult for the people to grasp and understand completely. I’m not sure if that was a language barrier or just my inability to teach well…lol. The pain and brokenness is very deep. This led to several great times of ministry and prayer after teaching. We witnessed deep breakthrough in peoples lives which was very rewarding and a huge blessing!
Our second week was spent in Tanzania near a city named Dar es Salaam. It is on the coast near Zanzibar. We drove a few hours out of the city into a smaller community where we spent the week with approximately 400 leaders. The church building was not large. It only held about 200 people so the other 200 sat outside under covers and trees. It was one of those moments that really grabs your heart and helps you to understand how hungry for Jesus people are, to sit outside, travel for hours, and then soak up everything that you’re saying. The last day there I taught on impartation and all 400 of them lined up for prayer. That was a staggering moment that lasted for an hour and a half. I left there thinking I should be praying about bringing a team of people with me to minister to and pray with the people. It is not real to pray over 400 people by yourself. It helped me to appreciate our ministry teams at Water Of Life and all the years they cared for people and prayed over them at the altar. I’m so very grateful for that.
Next week I’m going to gather with a team of people who are walking out this season of ministry with me to discuss and pray about the future. I have one more trip scheduled this year in October, but I have so many invitations to visit other places in Africa, I’m not quite sure what to do with it all.
As I close I want to say first and foremost, thank you to all of you who have prayed for me and for these trips. You made this possible! And those of you who have given sacrificially, your generosity has spread the Kingdom of God in places you’ll never know until you reach eternity. My heart is full and super grateful for all that you’ve done to touch these people. You have no idea until they run up to you in heaven, hug you and thank you for making a way for them to get fed so they could touch the people in their churches. Thank you! Please pray for us in the coming days and weeks as we began to map out our next trip to Africa. Thank you so much.
Bless You,
Pastor Dan
