Building Disciples | The Power of a Teachable Spirit

In Part Four of the Building Disciples series, Pastor Dan Carroll returns to Jesus’ invitation in Matthew 11:28–30: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.”

A disciple is more than someone who believes in Jesus or attends church. A disciple is a learner—a person who continues to surrender, grow, and allow Jesus to shape every part of their life. In this teaching, Pastor Dan explores why a teachable spirit is essential to following Christ. He addresses how wounds, disappointment, pride, and stubbornness can keep us from growing, and how humility opens the door for healing, wisdom, and renewed life in Jesus.

In this message, you’ll be encouraged to consider:
• What it means to truly “learn from” Jesus
• Why discipleship requires a teachable spirit
• How hurt can cause us to pull back from growth
• The connection between humility, wisdom, and spiritual maturity
• How Jesus meets us in our brokenness and restores our hearts

No matter where you are in your journey, Jesus is inviting you to come close, lay down your burdens, and continue learning from Him.
